RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS

This residence in Lucknow, spread across 3,200 sq.ft., is envisioned as a modern home that reflects both luxury and practicality. The client’s expectation was to have a bold, contemporary design that offers privacy, comfort, and ample open spaces for family interaction.
Spacious family zones with seamless indoor-outdoor connections.
Large balconies and green terraces for relaxation, gardening, and social evenings.
A modern façade with clean geometry, enriched with natural materials and jaali elements for privacy.
A rooftop leisure zone for gatherings, celebrations, and quiet retreats.

The final outcome reflects the client’s aspiration for a statement residence — one that not only stands out in the neighborhood but also serves as a comfortable, nature-integrated family retreat.
One of the key concepts was to design a home that feels open yet secure. The vertical jaali panels not only add character but also provide privacy and ventilation. Cantilevered balconies with green edges soften the strong linear form, adding freshness to the built mass.
CLIENT EXPECTATIONS

The design approach revolves around the idea of blending indoor and outdoor living. Large balconies and landscaped terraces are integrated at each level, ensuring greenery and natural light flow into the interiors. The façade is crafted with a fusion of modern geometry, wooden textures, jaali screens, and sleek glazing, creating a dynamic play of light, shade, and transparency.

PRINTING PRESS, LUCKNOW
This architectural project is situated within the historic and culturally rich context of Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, India. The site encompasses the existing Government Press at Aishbagh, a location with a strong historical track record and impressive architectural heritage. The design proposal for this area draws profound inspiration from Lucknow's unique blend of Mughal, Awadhi, and British colonial architectural styles, integrating these influences with modern sustainable practices. The development is organized into distinct blocks—Rig, Yajur, Atharva, and Sam—allocated for workshops, offices, laboratories, and auditoriums, creating a complex that harmonizes its significant historical setting with contemporary functionality and symbolic design elements rooted in local tradition.

Type of Space
Industrial-Administrative Complex
Project Focus
Cultural landmark and Religious symbol, all organized within a Campus-style layout
Area
25,490 sq.m (6.3 Acres)
Design concept
The central, overarching concept is the integration of the Swastika as both a spiritual symbol and an architectural form.
Symbolic Meaning: The Swastika is not used in its corrupted 20th-century context but is reclaimed as its original Hindu symbol of "good luck, prosperity, and auspiciousness." The design aims to imbue the entire complex with these positive attributes.
Formal Generator: The spatial layout and arrangement of the building blocks (Rig, Yajur, Atharva, Sam) are directly inspired by the geometry of the Swastika. The arms of the symbol likely dictate the circulation paths, the placement of buildings, and the creation of the central and peripheral courtyards.
Cultural Integration: This concept roots the building deeply in Indian (specifically Hindu) tradition, making it not just a functional government building but a culturally significant landmark.
